A fair start...
The State Schools' Relief Committee (SSRC) supports children in government schools.

SSRC had its beginnings during the Great Depression, over 75 years ago.

Concerned Principals and teachers were determined to help alleviate the disadvantage that was so prevalent in those early Depression years.

Sadly that disadvantage is still a fact of life for many children in our community. This year, the SSRC assisted with clothing and footwear for almost 8,000 children across Victoria.

Education is the main pathway out of disadvantage. Our work at State Schools’ Relief Committee helps remove the barriers that exclude young people from schooling and the many opportunities it presents.

Education helps every child have a fair start in life.

Many thanks to our Patron: The Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser, A.C.
